Spectroscopy, Dynamics, and Nanoscale Imaging

The Abel group employs time-resolved spectroscopy techniques such as high-harmonics, continuum probe and photoelectron (PEEM) femtosecond spectroscopy to elucidate molecular mechanisms of molecules at solid and liquid interfaces. Functional molecules at interfaces are probed and molecular mechanisms are investigated together with high-end theory. The research also deals with the sensory, responsive and functional (active) interfaces of matter in current fields of future and action. Fundamental mechanistic details are examined and, if possible, implemented in innovative technological applications in the field of sensor technology and energy conversion.
