Self assembled quantum dots are a leading technology for applications in quantum information, such as single photon emitters and detectors. Toshiba Research Europe Limited is investigating the optical properties of individual quantum dots to understand further the physics underlying photon emission from single dots, and to implement and develop demonstrations of quantum dot single photon emission. Our expertise lie in both optically and electrically excited spectroscopy and time correlated counting of single photons and photon pairs emitted by quantum dots at sub micron and telecoms wavelengths.
