Abstract
Recent research on the “colossal magnetoresistance” (CMR) manganites has turned to an investigation of the anomalous Hall effect in order to gain a deeper understanding of the transport mechanism. As is well known from studies of conventional ferromagnets, the anomalous Hall effect arises from the spin-orbit interaction, which – in turn – also leads to anisotropic magnetoresistance (AMR). Thus a model of the anomalous Hall effect must be capable to describe AMR. The purpose of the present note is to point out scaling relations between anomalous Hall effect, AMR, resistivity and magnetization experimentally observed inLa0.7Ca0.3MnO3 (LCMO) films.
