Bachelor program (B. Sc.) Psychology
Modules
The Bachelor’s program includes two required modules in Work and Organizational Psychology. In the fourth semester (summer semester), students complete the basic module “Work Psychology.” In the fifth semester (winter semester), they complete the basic module “Organizational Psychology.” Additionally, an optional advanced module is offered in the sixth semester (summer semester).
Work Psychology (Basic module)
4th semester – Module 11-PSY-11032
Components of the compulsory module
- Lecture “Introduction to work psychology”
- Seminar with exercise component “Questions in work psychology”
The basic module introduces the key theories of work psychology and provides an overview of central empirical findings. Topics include action regulation, career choice and career development, work-family interface, flexibilization of work, work stress and occupational health, occupational safety, unemployment, as well as work analysis and work design.
The accompanying seminar explores selected topics in greater depth and conveyes knowledge and skills in analyzing, evaluating, and designing work-related activities and systems.

Organizational Psychology (Basic Module)
5th semester – Module 11-PSY-11035
Components of the required module
- Lecture “Introduction to Organizational Psychology”
- Seminar with exercise component “Issues in Organizational Psychology”
The basic module introduces the key theories in organizational psychology and provides an overview of central empirical findings. Topics include personnel selection, personnel development, work motivation, work performance, leadership, as well as team and organizational development.
The accompanying seminar explores selected topics in greater depth and conveyes knowledge and skills in personnel and organizational development.

Work and Organizational Psychology (Advanced Module)
6th semester – Module 11-PSY-12002
Components of the advanced module
- Seminar with exercise component “Foci of Work and Organizational Psychology”
The advanced module deepens knowledge and conveys skills in one of three key areas of work and organizational psychology:
- Work and health (e.g., risk assessment, prevention of stress-related illnesses, stress management)
- Personnel and career (e.g., personnel management, career and career counseling) or
- Team and organizational development (e.g., employee surveys, leadership training).

Colloquium on the Bachelor's thesis
Components of the required module
- Colloquium “Preparation and discussion of the Bachelor’s thesis”
The colloquium takes place during the development of the Bachelor’s thesis within the working group of the student’s faculty supervisor. Students deepen their understanding of key concepts, theories, and research paradigms within a specific field of psychology, discuss current research findings and emerging trends, and apply empirical research methods relevant to their topic. They also have the opportunity to present and get feedback on both their thesis and their research approach.
