Susanne Heeg is a professor of urban geography at the Institute of Human Geography (Department of Geosciences/Geography) at Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main. Her main research focus is on cities as centres of social struggle and nodes for global dynamics. She explores processes contributing to the importance of cities and urban regions in a global age as well as on dynamics within cities and metropolitan regions. In particular, she is focused on how cities are built and governed. What are the effects of the liberalization of financial and property markets on the constructed environment in cities? What does the neoliberal reorganization of cities mean for ways of working and living in cities?
