Innovative Technology Enterprises in Unlikely Places in Central Asia and Africa

The project analyses processes of spatialization, spatial practices, and networks of internationally successful technology start-ups. Empirically, the project focuses on the spatial agency of economic actors in seemingly unlikely places, that is in countries beyond the Global North and in regions outside of the globally networked metropolitan regions. In a comparative research design, the project evaluates 15 case studies of technology enterprises in Central Asia and Africa.
