Abstract

Recent publications demonstrated the generation of magnetic order atroom temperature on graphite surfaces after irradiation with protons. Inthis contribution we show that it is possible to produce magnetic structuresin the micrometer range using a proton micro-beam by proton irradiation ofthe surface of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite samples. The experimentalresults are compared with micromagnetic simulations.
