Dr Franz Xaver Erhard

Franz Xaver Erhard (Leipzig) is the PI from the German side. He is a philologist specialising in modern Tibetan literature and early Tibetan-language newspapers, and a former departmental lecturer at Oxford in Tibetan. He leads the project’s philological and textual research, supervises document acquisition and scanning, and oversees the integration of the project’s data with the Leipzig Corpus Miner and the selection of texts and translations for the project website and reader. He will contribute textual studies on source documents and manage the RAs in Leipzig.
