Prof. Fraya Frehse (University of São Paulo, Brazil)
Fraya Frehse is a professor of sociology at the U São Paulo, where she coordinates the Núcleo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Sociologia do Espaço e do Tempo, a centre for studies and research on the sociology of space and time. Having studied social sciences (sociology, anthropology, and political science) at the Free University of Berlin and being awarded a PhD in social anthropology, she accomplished a postdoctoral research in urban sociology at FU Berlin and Humboldt University in Berlin with a fellowship by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Her areas of expertise are anthropology and sociology in their interfaces with history, with emphasis on urban studies. She mainly does research on everyday life and history in and through (bodily and/or urban) space. Fraya Frehse ist currently as a guest researcher at SFB 1265 “Re-Figuration of Spaces” (TU Berlin).
