Abstract
The weekly colloquium of the Collaborative Research Centre provides a forum for presentations by external guests as well as by members of the SFB 1199 within a tailored thematic framework. The format helps to create a common ground for discussion between guests, the Collaborative Research Centre, as well as the wider academic public.
In this week’s session Jens-Karl Eilers kindly gives his comments on the research program for the SFB’s third funding phase starting in 2024 and currently pending.

Biographical Note
Jens-Karl Eilers (Universität Leipzig, Germany)
Jens-Karl Eilers is Prorector for Excellence Development: Research and Transfer at Leipzig University. He was appointed Professor of Physiology at Leipzig University in 2003. From 2005-2022 he headed the Carl Ludwig Institute of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine as Executive Director.
