Biographical Note
Dr. Constantin Katsakioris (SFB 1199, Leipzig University, Germany)
Constantin Katsakioris is a historian of the relations between the Soviet Union, the socialist countries, and the Third World. He earned his PhD in 2015 at the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. He is currently completing his first monograph, entitled “Soviet Lessons: The Education of African and Arab Students in the USSR during the Cold War” (in French: Leçons soviétiques : La formation des étudiants africains et arabes en URSS pendant la guerre froide). Parts of his research have appeared or are forthcoming in book chapters or articles in peer-reviewed journals, among them, Kritika: Explorations in Russian and Eurasian History, the Journal of Modern European History, the Cahiers d’Études africaines, and the Cahiers du Monde russe.
