Networking for Young Female Researchers

Siofra McSherry (Scienza Science Coaching Berlin)

The SFB1052, the SFB1199, the SFB1423 and the TRR67 pool gender equality measures, ideas and offers to sustainably establish the common goal of promoting equal opportunities in research collaborations. The pooling strategy enables gender equality activities directly oriented towards the centres’ needs and provides a collaborative exchange platform. The varied workshops and training programs will be combined with an opening lecture about the personal career path of a female scientist working in the research alliance. The lectures and the talks are in English language. The entire program you can find here.

We will gladly accept your registration within the online registration form or by e-mail to sfb1423@uni-leipzig.de. Please indicate in which DFG-funded network you are doing research.

This workshop will deal with the topic of Networking for Young Female Researchers:

It is widespread consensus that networking skills are a vital ingredient in a successful academic career. Yet, we rarely talk about the gender-specific challenges that female researchers face in this area. The workshop will interactively elaborate on the issue and help develop approaches to action.

Prior to the workshop Steffi Marung (SFB 1199 & Leipzig U) will give an insight into her career path and its gender-specific challenges.
