Cross-Border Enzymatic Hazards. Practices of Fighting Antimicrobial Resistance

Based on the example of antimicrobial resistance (AMR), the project aims at understanding socio-political strategies of dealing with debordered health-related respectively enzymatic hazards under the global condition. Thereby, the main objective is to deconstruct trans-scalar entanglements of related governmental and biopolitical practices. This is taken up by two case studies, focusing (1) on practices of transnational institutionalization and regulation and on (2) discursive mechanisms of tying AMR to certain places in the context of global medical tourism. The empirical fieldwork focuses on the European Union as well as the Republic of India.
