International Studies / African PoliticsThe spatial format “region” sits at the centre of the project. In the second funding period, the complex triangle cooperation between the African Union, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), and the European Union in the field of peace and security in the Sahel will be analysed. The practice of ordering space is treated as the process of making visible “valid” spatial formats. Hypothetically, interregionalism is understood as a practice of spatialization through which concrete spatial forms are made visible and, as a result, complex spatial orders are coproduced.
