Digital Governance and the Respatialization of the Indian Nation State

This project studies the spatial consequences of changes of Indian governance through digital technologies and focuses specifically on the role of administrators, politicians, and citizens as spatial entrepreneurs in this process. By examining the planning, implementation, and appropriation of digital governance projects, we produce systematic knowledge about the impact of digitalization on the spatial format of the nation state. We investigate the way national control mechanisms become entangled with global governance regimes and examine the understudied, so far, spatial impacts of new digital infrastructures.
