SFB1423 Retreat I 02.-04.12.2024 I Klosterhotel Nimbschen
We hereby invite you to register for our upcoming Retreat (for Project Leader, PostDocs, PhDs & Members) from December 02-04, 2024 at the Hotel Kloster Nimbschen (Grimma).
On the first day it is planned to hold the Member Meeting, the Doctoral Meeting and we are very pleased that Ms. Phaedria Marie St.Hilaire has accepted our invitation for a seminar for “Inclusive Leadership as a means to excellence in science and academia“.
The program does not follow the sequence of research groups A, B, C. Instead, the sub-projects are reorganized along the following topics. Each topic includes a scientific overview presentation by the chair (15-30 minutes), followed by topic specific short talks by the subprojects (3 minutes).
In the poster sessions, the sub-projects will have the opportunity to present their current results on the posters and discuss them with the members. The posters should be created by the doctoral students and contain current results of the subproject. A maximum of 2 posters are possible per subproject. Poster prizes will again be awarded. This year, grants will be provided for participation in a conference and for travel expenses.

- GPCR – physiological role of biased signalling for function (Chair: Stäubert & Beck-Sickinger)
- Allosteric Modulation of GPCR activation (modulators, fluids, lipids) (Chair: Schöneberg)
- Role of conformational equilibrium for signalling (Chair: Elgeti)
- GPCR in endogenous systems, how local orientation and concentration may effect signals (Chair: Bock & Lohse)

For the travel to the Hotel Kloster Nimbschen we ask you to form car pools or to organize alternative journeys, e.g. with the S Bahn / regional train or by bicycle independently.
According to the current Corona Protection Ordinance, a stay of 2 households in a double room is allowed, and since we additionally do not have enough single rooms, we would like to ask you to stay together in double rooms if possible.
Please submit your business trip requests in due time according to your local regulations. All employees of the Leipzig University and Faculty of Medicine are requested to use the prepared travel application forms. Please have them signed by yourself and your supervisor, afterwards send them to: Susan Helmert or Anett Albrecht (SFB1423), Institute für Biochemie, Postfach 220001.

Presentations and Poster Sessions

Please use the SFB1423 templates for your presentation and poster which you can find on our drive or here as download. We are also happy to send them to you by email. For a more uniform presentation of the SFB1423 we ask you to use the corporate design and exactly this template.

For a quiet and smooth process, you are welcome to send us your presentation in advance via email to Alternatively, you can upload it to our laptop we provide for the event on site. Please choose a suitable format (PPTX, PDF). Before the event starts and during the breaks you will have the opportunity to test your presentation.
The poster sessions will take place in the “Scheune” of the monastery. We will provide poster walls and pins for this purpose. Please bring your poster in A0 format by yourself. Please hang up your poster before the start of the session/event.

For the registration we provide an online form where each participating person (member of the SFB1423) can register directly.
Poster Awarding
The SFB1423 awards 3 PRIZES for outstanding scientific and creative poster presentations of its doctoral students and post doctorals. Each of the Poster Awards is endowed with a monetary value of 100 EUR.
Each presenting PhD-student of the winning posters will be awarded, due a public voting during the retreats. The prizes will be awarded at the retreats.
